K-1 visa for a fiance of US Citizens
The K-1 visa, often referred to as the Fiancé(e) visa, is a one-time, single-entry visa for a foreign-born fiancé(e) to be admitted to the United States, for the purposes of marrying their U.S.-citizen fiancé(e). If the fiancé(e) has children they can accompany him/her on K2 visas.
Only U.S. citizens are eligible to petition the government for fiancé visas. Lawful permanent residents can’t sponsor a fiancé for this type of visa.

We can help you, no matter what State you reside in. We have immigration clients in different parts of the United States!

the following are the basic requirements
- The U.S. citizen sponsoring the foreign citizen must file a Form I-129F with the USCIS on behalf of his or her fiancé(e),
- You must both be eligible to marry. If either of you were married before, you must provide documentation that your previous marriage or marriages have been lawfully terminated through divorce, annulment or death.,
- You must prove that you are in a genuine relationship. The United States government calls this a bona fide relationship, and it means that you’re married because you want to have a future together – not because one of you
wants a U.S. immigration benefit.
- The U.S. citizen and the foreign citizen must have met in person within the past two years. However, this requirement can sometimes be waived – such as when meeting your fiancé in person would create extreme hardship or it would
violate cultural, social or religious norms.
